Why grouped this way
Grouped by the council that actually handles Building Control
Twelve different local authorities cover the towns we work in. That matters more than it sounds, because if your property is listed or sits inside a conservation area, it is the council below that would need to agree a visible external flue terminal, not the county.
A gas boiler installation is notifiable work under the Building Regulations. A Gas Safe registered installer notifies it through the Gas Safe Register rather than applying to the council, and you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate afterwards. The council only enters the picture where consent is separately required, which is almost always a heritage question rather than a heating one.
Water supply is the other thing that genuinely varies. Northumbrian Water supplies the whole region, mostly from upland reservoirs, so the water is soft nearly everywhere we work. Hartlepool is the exception, and we say so on its pages.

Answers
Areas we cover: your questions answered
Which areas do you cover for boiler work?
We cover 33 towns across Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, County Durham and Teesside, from Newcastle upon Tyne and Hexham in the north to Yarm, Loftus and Guisborough in the south. Every town has its own page, and each service has its own page for that town.
Why are the towns grouped by council rather than by county?
Because Building Control is administered by the local authority, and that is the body you would deal with if a property is listed or in a conservation area and a visible external flue terminal is proposed. The council boundary is more useful to you here than the postal county.
Does the water in the North East vary enough to affect my boiler?
Mostly it does not. Northumbrian Water supplies the region largely from upland reservoirs, and the water is soft, so limescale is far less of a threat to a combi here than it is in the south of England. Hartlepool is the exception on our patch, supplied by Hartlepool Water from Magnesian Limestone boreholes, where the water is hard and a scale reducer is worth discussing.
My town is not listed. Can you still help?
Very likely yes. These are the towns we cover most often, not a hard boundary. Call us with the postcode and we will tell you straight away whether we can get to you.
Do you charge more to travel to the outer towns?
Our quotes are based on the work, and any travel is discussed openly before you commit to anything. We would rather tell you honestly on the phone that somewhere is at the edge of our range than turn up and add a charge.
Do you cover landlord gas safety checks across all of these areas?
Yes. Annual gas safety checks and CP12 certification are available anywhere we work, and we can combine a safety check with a service on the same visit.
How quickly can you reach my area in an emergency?
We aim to attend an emergency within three hours where the diary and your location allow it. Travel time to the outer towns is real, so we will tell you a realistic time on the phone rather than promising one we cannot hold. Call 07778 045150.
Are your engineers Gas Safe registered everywhere you work?
Yes. Gas Safe registration is national, not local. Every engineer is Gas Safe registered under Gas Safe Register number 957995 and works to the same standard in every town listed here.
Do you install heat pumps in every area you cover?
Yes, subject to the property being suitable. A heat pump depends far more on insulation, radiator sizing and the space available for an outdoor unit than it does on which town you are in, so we assess each property individually.
Can I get a quote without you visiting first?
For a straightforward like for like boiler replacement we can often quote remotely from clear photos and basic system information. For a change of system type, or anything involving a listed or conservation area property, we would rather see it in person.
Not sure which page you need?
Call 07778 045150 and tell us the postcode and what the boiler is doing. We will point you at the right answer, and if it is a job for us we will book it in.
